PATHWAY OF THE SUN FAIR

A COMMUNITY CONTRIBUTION PROJECT

Pathway of the Sun Fair has become a beloved annual event in the Northern Rivers, and it’s been a joy to contribute my skills to this beautiful grassroots initiative. I was involved across both 2023 and 2024 in different capacities (under my previous business name, The Website Studio). In 2023, I supported the event’s social media efforts, helping expand its reach and visibility. In 2024, I deepened my involvement by donating my time, skills, and covering the running costs to create a full website for the event.

The website served as a central hub for both the community and visitors. It included a homepage about the fair, an event schedule, a ticketing section for workshop passes, a ‘meet the team’ page, venue information about Crabbes Creek Community Hall, and a dedicated area for stallholders. To ease the load on the organising team, I also built a password-protected page specifically for stallholders. This private section included everything from set-up instructions and vendor schedules (with downloadable PDFs), to insurance guidelines and key logistics. This helped streamline communications and reduce back-and-forth admin in the lead-up to the event.

My aim with the design was to reflect the vibrant, welcoming energy of the fair itself; bright, playful, and community-oriented, while still being highly functional. With many moving parts from ticketing and stallholder logistics to general event promotion - bringing it all together in one online space helped tie everything in neatly. It was shareable, accessible, and integrated with platforms like Facebook, Instagram, and Eventbrite.

Being involved with the Pathway of the Sun Fair has been such a rewarding experience. It’s a reminder of how impactful creative contributions can be within our local communities. I continue to stay connected with the organisers and look forward to seeing how the fair evolves in 2025 and beyond.
